The Bonnie Bench of Niagara – Spring Fling 2024
Saturday, May 25th, 2024
9:00 am Start
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Contact dcantelliott@sympatico.ca ASAP if you want to attend!
Join the TTC and the MGCCT as we visit the Bench district of the Niagara Region. The ‘Bench District” is in the northwestern portion of the Niagara Peninsula (Beamsville, Jordan, Grimsby). An easy 60-minute drive from downtown Toronto.
The Benchlands is deeply rooted in exceptional nature and culture. In the heart of a UNESCO-designated Niagara Escarpment Biosphere, its lush backcountry of benches embraces must-see parks, trails, and lakeshore sites. Lively rural communities and heritage villages are the bedrock of this multi-generational agricultural powerhouse. It's a place perfect for come-as-you-are explorers who love curious meandering. The Benchlands less-travelled paths are ideal for serendipitous discoveries.
Doesn’t this sound like a great place to spend a day driving in your LBC?

SATURDAY, May 25th
We will start our day at the Watering Can Flower Market (3275 King Street, Vineland) which is approx. a 15-minute drive from the Quality Inn. Package Pickup will occur in our special parking area at the Watering Can. Our time at the Watering Can will allow us to say “Hello” to your car friends we’ve missed all winter, and walk around the garden centre and enjoy the amazing atmosphere. The Watering Can is a destination location for many in Niagara!
Following our drivers’ meeting, we will hit the roads of the BENCH. Maps will be included in your package.
Meandering through the west end of the Niagara Peninsula we will discover many hidden back roads, fields of agriculture excellence and a few surprises along the way.
We will gather at Charles Daly Park Pavilion(1969 North Service Road, Jordan) for an amazing lunch (included) specially prepared for an Englishman (or woman). While at the park, enjoy our special photo area, play a few games (do I hear a challenge) and take time to enjoy the beautiful Lake Ontario view.
Back in our cars for a drive through the eastern side of the Bench. This adventure will include a few twists and turns with more surprises! A few special stops are also planned.
We will finish our day at London Born Winery (original location – 3749 Walker Road in Beamsville). We will have time here to sit back and enjoy the outdoors, chat with friends, enjoy beverages and a pub style dinner (included).
As the day comes to an end, we will say our goodbyes knowing that we will see everyone again in just 4 months at British Car Day (September 15th).
